Simple Things
As I sit here in front of my computer with my warm green tea and honey on a beautiful snowy day I can't help but feel so content with the simple things in life.
I love my family. Despite our quirks, stubbornness and faults - we're always here for one another. I love how my dad wakes my sister and I up by yelling 'monkey and elephants'. As random and annoying as that may seem - it's somewhat endearing as well! I love how my sister comes home randomly on the weekends just to spend time with us. I love how I received a care package from her yesterday full of random things like post its, bandaids, and my favorite nougat candies! I feel as though we've grown a lot closer these past few years. Maybe it's because she went away and we made more of an effort to keep in touch...but deeper than that - she's one person that knows me through and through yet still loves me. Our relationship is truly one of a kind :)
I love how Mike and I have been together, nearing two years, and we still feel like we're in the 'honeymoon' stage. Barf all you like, I just love it :) We were talking to a friend the other night and just recounting all that we've been through as a couple from the start of our relationship to now. It's amazing to see how much we've struggled, grown, challenged one another and worked through each argument, not giving up on one another and seeing the fruit of the resolutions in our lives. I can honestly say that I'm a better person because of his love for his Jesus and the way he shows me. I love how he loves me and my family :)
I love how I can talk with my bestest about everything. It doesn't matter where we are in life, we can always pick up, turn to, cry or laugh with each other at any time of the day. Whether she's in London or I'm in Toronto - I know I can always count on her to help me sort through issues, share in my joys or just laugh at each other's durdur-ness. She's honestly the best! "NO SORRY!" *rubs belly* haha
I love how in a week Winterlicious is starting! I love food and I love the company that will be sharing it with me :) From my dear Yorkies to JLC to my Mike - it can't get better than that! I love food and I love my different group of friends! Sometimes I feel like a 'floater' with different groups of friends - but at the same time, there's this warmness and closeness that I share with each individual. Food usually brings us together and I'm so glad for it! Their friendship and what we eat :)
I love doing spontaneous things that challenge myself. This past week, my friend Abby and I participated in a cyclethon called 'Race For Dignity' for the NGO called Dignatas. We cycled for over half an hour (which is plenty for me, thankyouverymuch! haha) and raised money for this organization that offers HIV positive patients in Malawi, Africa; medicine, bicycle ambulances, prevention education resources etc. I feel so blessed to have had this opportunity to participate in something like this...
I love afternoons like this when I can sit back, reflect on my past weeks and just feel so content and so happy with life.
God is sooo good :)

great post. to me, simple things like you said are amazing...not because they're simple, but because it's more obvious who i'm with rather than what i need to do.
